One area that can make or break a detail is the rubber floor mats. However, getting rubber mats looking good can prove to be a difficult task. Especially when they’re old and well used. In this blog we will talk about the 5 steps to making your rubber mats look brand new! But first I’ve made a list of tools you’ll need.
- Degreaser

- Drill brush
- Drill
- Hose
- Aerosol dressing
These 5 items are all you will need to tackle the task of cleaning your rubber mats! So get your tools and mats ready and let’s get started!
- First off, start by rinsing the mats with your hose. This removes any loose dirt off the top.
- Spray the degreaser onto the mats and let it soak for 20-30 seconds.
- Agitate with the drill brush. Make sure to get into all the grooves and cracks. You will see every single area you missed once dried.
- Rinse again. Make sure to rinse off the back if any degreaser or dirt made its way there.
- Finally, once dry, spray the mats with the aerosol dressing. I recommend a product such as Stoner Trim Care, however you can use whatever works for you!
After you’re done take a step back and check out the amazing job you did! It’s pretty crazy how much of a difference cleaning and dressing your floor mats every once in a while makes.
