How To Clean Rubber Floor Mats
One area that can make or break a detail is the rubber floor mats. However, getting rubber mats looking good can prove to be a difficult task. Especially when they’re old and well used. In this blog we will talk about the 5 steps to making your rubber mats look brand new! But first I’ve made a list of tools you’ll need.
Degreaser
Drill brush
Drill
Hose
Aerosol dressing
These 5 items are all you will need to tackle the task of cleaning your rubber mats! So get your tools and mats ready and let’s get started!
First off, start by rinsing the mats with your hose. This removes any loose dirt off the top.
Spray the degreaser onto the mats and let it soak for 20-30 seconds.
Agitate with the drill brush. Make sure to get into all the grooves and cracks. You will see every single area you missed once dried.
Rinse again. Make sure to rinse off the back if any degreaser or dirt made its way there.
Finally, once dry, spray the mats with the aerosol dressing. I recommend a product such as Stoner Trim Care, however you can use whatever works for you!
After you’re done take a step back and check out the amazing job you did! It’s pretty crazy how much of a difference cleaning and dressing your floor mats every once in a while makes.
