How To Remove Water Spots

In the last blog we talked about how to avoid water spots. However, some of you may already have water spots and be wondering how to eliminate them. So today we'll talk about how to remove water spotting! Here's our two top most efficient methods for removing water spots off your paint or glass.

1. There’s nothing wrong with good ol’ fashioned compounding, in fact, sometimes this is the only way to go about it. Whether on the paint or glass, this works on both. While this method does take a pretty good amount of time to finish, it will usually completely eliminate the water spotting.

2. As good as compounding is, there are better methods…one of which would be an acid wash. An acid wash works to break down the minerals and calcium embedded in the surface. While this is mainly used for glass, it is still very usable on paint and can be the more efficient method if your water spots are more recent.

Although there are other methods, we have found that these two work the best for us in most situations. If you want the ultimate in protection against water spotting, it might be worth looking into a ceramic coating.
